Job summary

Starcom in Toronto, part of Publicis Groupe, is seeking a HR Generalist to support day-to-day HR operations and deliver an engaging employee experience. You will partner with the HR Manager and team on onboarding, investigations, performance cycles, and health and safety programs.

The role emphasizes compliance, data accuracy in HRIS, and collaboration across Global Mobility and learning initiatives within Publicis Groupe networks.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive HR experience.
• Working knowledge of HR policies, employment standards, and applicable employment legislation.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including new hire orientation and exit interviews for employees below Manager level.
• Conduct new hire check-ins with employees and managers to assess onboarding experience and identify improvement areas.
• Support HR Manager with employee relations matters, leaves, STD/LTD cases, and maternity/parental leave documentation and communication.
• Partner with HR Manager and Director on performance management and merit cycles, including timelines and communications.
• Maintain accurate HRIS data and troubleshoot absence management, vacation, and time-off system issues.
• Analyze HR data and prepare insights on turnover, retention, engagement, and other metrics for leadership review.
• Own compliance tracking, including training, learning requests, and escalation of compliance risks.
• Coordinate recurring HR programs and deliverables, including overtime compliance, DPSP administration, employee engagement, and CSR initiatives.
• Manage employee-related date tracking and notifications, including recognition milestones and contract dates.
• Prepare and maintain freelancer contracts and related documentation.
• Own workplace health and safety activities for assigned client groups, including incident reporting and investigations.
