Job summary

Alter Ego seeks an experienced HR generalist to transform practices into simple, documented, reusable processes in a manufacturing, unionized environment. You will lead payroll configuration reviews, design compensation scales, and standardize hiring, onboarding, and documentation workflows.

You will support management with day-to-day HR files, update policies, and create templates and templates to ensure consistent application of practices and compliance with the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as an HR generalist in a manufacturing, unionized setting.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and maintain rigorous documentation.
• Experience with payroll systems, ideally ADP, and compensation structuring.
• Knowledge of Quebec HR obligations and working with temporary foreign workers is a plus.
• Autonomy, rigor, and strong prioritization skills; pragmatic SME approach.

Responsibilities

• Review and optimize ADP payroll configuration and related processes.
• Structure compensation practices, salary scales, progressions and tools.
• Oversee hiring processes: postings, screening, interviews, references and candidate comms.
• Implement a structured onboarding process with checklists and plans.
• Support management with HR files in a manufacturing, unionized context.
• Develop templates, letters, checklists, and documentation for ongoing use.
• Coordinate exit interviews, access closures, and payroll coordination.
• Monitor temporary foreign worker files with external partners.
• Update policies to reflect field applicability and legal obligations.
