What Would You Do?

The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting the Human Resources functions within PFG. The main focus area will be on the Palliser Indirect side. This position requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and resourceful individual to handle various HR responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to foster a positive workplace culture.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position would include:

  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, providing guidance on HR policies and procedures.
  • Address employee concerns and conflicts, conducting investigations when necessary.
  • Promote a positive workplace environment through engagement initiatives and programs
  • Support the performance review process by coordinating timelines, training managers, and ensuring consistency.
  • Monitor probationary periods and facilitate performance improvement plans as needed.
  • Provide support to managers in addressing performance-related issues.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of HR policies and programs.
  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
  • Lead or assist with special HR projects as assigned.
  • Hands-on approach to the position, understanding that there will be tasks and responsibilities at all levels and not afraid to “roll up your sleeves”.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screenings, interviews, and offers.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding, ensuring all necessary documentation and training are completed.
  • Maintain job descriptions and collaborate with hiring managers to identify staffing needs.

What Do You Bring?

  • 5 years in progressive HR experience, past corporate knowledge is an asset.
  • Post-Secondary Education in Human Resource Management.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS, such as Dayforce, is an asset.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to communicate ideas or information to all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and well-developed interpersonal skills.
  • Big picture thinking.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple projects in a timely manner.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team and can also work independently.
  • Detail-oriented and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize and be flexible.
  • Hungry/Humble/Smart in your approach.
  • Must have a driver's license and access to a vehicle.

This position requires being present in the office Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM—4:30 PM, 40 hours per week. We have two locations in Winnipeg within two blocks of each other, and the ability to work at both locations will be required.
