Job summary

Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE) is hiring a Housing Outreach Worker to join the Housing team in Windsor. You’ll identify homeless individuals, assess housing needs, and connect clients with housing solutions and supports.

The role emphasizes outreach, collaboration with landlords, and facilitating access to services to secure stable housing. The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or related field, at least two years of case management experience, and a valid driver’s

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social services or related field is required.
Strong conflict resolution and communication skills are essential.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required.

Responsibilities

Conduct outreach to identify homeless individuals needing assistance and connect them to housing programs.
Meet with clients to assess housing needs and determine appropriate housing solutions.
Provide resources and referrals to address immediate needs and facilitate problem solving.
Conduct housing searches and build inventory of available units for candidates.
Liaise with property managers, landlords, and others to secure vacant properties for placement.
Engage with clients to secure housing including deposits, income support, and leases.
Document all activities and provide support to the Outreach Coordinator.
