Job summary

BC Housing in Victoria, BC invites applications for a Homelessness Outreach Worker. Reporting to the Coordinated Access and Assessment Manager, this role connects with people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness and helps them navigate housing and related supports.

You will collaborate with shelters and housing providers as part of the HEART team to prevent encampments and coordinate rapid outreach.

Qualifications

• High School diploma plus post-secondary courses in relevant disciplines.
• Experience with homelessness and poverty and related challenges.
• Experience liaising with housing providers and diverse backgrounds.
• Experience with crisis management and de-escalation techniques.

Responsibilities

• Connect with people experiencing homelessness or at risk to access housing and supports.
• Navigate housing and related services; collaborate with shelters and providers.
• Support encampment response and rapid outreach as part of HEART team.
