Job summary

Family Services Windsor-Essex (FSWE) seeks a Voluntary Trusteeship Program Worker to support individuals through assessments, goal-setting, and linkage to community resources in Windsor. You will advocate for clients, coordinate with OW/ODSP, and help them access basic life necessities while respecting autonomy and self-determination.

Evening and weekend availability is required; a university degree in social work or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• University degree in social work or related field.
• Knowledge of community support services and provincial legislation.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Accept requests for service and assess individuals to determine eligibility for the program.
• Meet with individuals to realize goals and monitor progress.
• Assist individuals to acquire skills and resources for independent living.
• Provide coaching and teaching to individuals receiving support.
• Collaborate with other community services to identify needs and make referrals.
• Advocate for clients and inform them of their rights and options; assist with contacting agencies or authorities.
• Ensure access to basic life necessities and support the individual's rights.
• Coordinate with OW and ODSP to execute trusteeship agreements.
• Work evenings and weekends as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
