Job summary

The Drake Hotel in Toronto is seeking a Houseperson to uphold the highest standards of cleanliness in guest rooms and public areas.

You will perform deep-cleaning, replenish supplies, respond to guest requests, and work full-time with flexible hours, including weekends, aiming for 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous housekeeping or similar hospitality experience.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Able to work well in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina for lifting, bending and standing.
  • Certification in cleaning/sanitation preferred.
  • Experience with specialized cleaning equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of hotel management software desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms and public areas in a hotel.
  • Perform deep-cleaning tasks such as changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, vacuuming, and dusting.
  • Replenish supplies in storage rooms, such as towels, toiletries, and minibar items.
  • Respond to guest requests for housekeeping services promptly and efficiently.
  • Report any maintenance issues or needed repairs to the appropriate department.
  • Follow and adhere to hotel policies and sanitation protocols.
  • Work full-time with potential for early starts, late evening, and weekend shifts.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including shift rotations and on-call availability.
  • Expected to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with potential for additional hours based on hotel needs.
  • Assisting housekeeping management with other duties as directed.

We are currently seeking a Houseperson to join our dynamic Hotel Team. As a Houseperson, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness in our guest rooms and public areas.

  • Knowledge of hotel management software systems is desirable.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage: $23.50
  • This is for an existing vacancy.
