Job summary

Germain Hôtels in Halifax, Nova Scotia, seeks a reliable housekeeping team member to maintain clean common areas and guest rooms. You’ll join a close-knit team, perform a variety of duties, and ensure priorities are handled efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (asset), about 1 year of related experience, physical stamina, and basic English. The wage starts at 17.69 CAD per hour, with full-time permanent employment and benefits including

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or asset.
• 1 year experience in a similar housekeeping role.
• Good physical condition: standing for long periods, ability to lift up to 50 lb.
• Intermediate level of English (spoken).
• Autonomy, proactivity and strong prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure housekeeping of common areas and document issues to be corrected.
• Participate in all cleaning, handling, and room availability tasks.
• Perform layout and furnishing changes; disassemble/reassemble furniture.
• Gather laundry items and stock floors with bedding.
• Perform cleaning tasks for draperies, windows, balconies, carpets, floors, etc.
• Respond to guest requests with care and contribute to enhancing their experience.
