Job summary

Germain Hotels in Halifax, Nova Scotia is seeking a guest-focused front desk team member for a full-time position. You will handle check-ins and check-outs, verify arrivals and departures, and ensure smooth hotel operations while delivering a personalized guest experience.

You bring at least 18 months of hospitality experience, excellent oral and written communication, and a positive, professional attitude.

Qualifications

• 18 months experience in a similar hospitality role.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Customer service oriented with a positive attitude.
• Ability to handle difficult situations professionally and calmly.
• Strong listening skills to understand guest needs.
• Good computer skills and experience with OPERA PMS, an asset.

Responsibilities

• Check-in and check-out, verify arrivals and departures, and ensure smooth internal operations.
• Respond to guest requests with care to improve their experience with individuality and creativity.
• Answer guest requests courteously in person, by phone or email.
• Resolve guest issues proactively with a focus on satisfaction.
• Collaborate with other departments to offer personalized guest experiences.

What You'll Do

• Check-in and check-out, verify and detail arrivals and departures, and ensure that internal activities run smoothly.
• Respond with care and attention to all guest requests, using your individuality and creativity to constantly improve their experience.
• Respond to guests' requests courteously and efficiently, whether in person, by telephone or by email.
• Resolve guest issues and concerns in a proactive, satisfaction-oriented manner.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide relevant information that enables us to offer a personalized experience to our guests.
