Job summary

Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia is seeking a Housekeeper to join our team. This part-time/casual role involves cleaning, laundry duties, and maintaining sanitary conditions across assigned areas under supervision.

We value reliability and compassionate care for seniors, with shifts including weekends, days, evenings, and holidays to support our residents’ well-being and the facility’s operations.

Qualifications

• Grade Twelve (12) required or equivalent.
• Knowledge of operating and cleaning institutional equipment (kitchen, laundry, sanitation).
• Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working with seniors with varying levels of disability.
• Experience in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
• Preference to candidates who have recently completed the National Sanitation Program.
• Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation.
• Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
• Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of the facility in a sanitary condition.
• General laundry duties including sorting, loading and folding of laundry and delivering to neighbourhoods.
• Responsible for maintaining all assigned areas and equipment in sanitary condition.

Job Summary

Under the directionof the assigned Supervisor/Manager, the Housekeeper is a fundamental part ofthe team that provides supportive services in the Home. This role may beassigned tasks that include:
