Job summary

Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, NS is seeking a Cook to prepare and serve meals according to the menu, while upholding safety and sanitation standards.

The role involves assisting with menu planning, catering as needed, and supervising staff as required, within a supportive team of nursing and dietary professionals.

Casual position with opportunities for training and development in a community-focused facility that emphasizes resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Grade Twelve (12) required or equivalent.
• One year community college quantity cooking course.
• Recent completion of National Sanitation Program including HACCP.
• Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation.
• Experience maintaining a safe & sanitary work environment.
• Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly and consistently.
• Knowledge of therapeutic and dietary requirements of geriatric residents.

SCOPE OF POSITION

The Cook isresponsible for food preparation and service of meals in accordance with themenu. Maintains high standard of safety and sanitation in cleaning of equipmentand work areas. • Knowledge of therapeutic and familiar with dietary requirements ofgeriatric resident
