Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria is hiring a Housekeeper to provide non-medical in-home support, companionship, and light housekeeping to seniors in the Victoria area. You will follow each client’s Plan of Care to promote comfort, dignity, independence, and quality of life in their own homes.

The role requires CPR/First Aid, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work independently with strong communication. Travel within Victoria area may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
• CPR & First Aid Certification is required.
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check is required.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are assets.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to quality client care.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and non-medical in-home care based on each client’s Plan of Care.
• Offer conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement for client well-being.
• Support clients’ emotional well-being and mental alertness.
• Assist with light housekeeping: vacuuming, dusting, laundry, dishes, bathroom and kitchen cleaning.
• Complete documentation and care notes accurately and on time.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain client confidentiality.

Position Summary

The housekeeper provides companionship, emotional support, and light household assistance to clients while following each client’s individualized Plan of Care. This role plays an important part in helping clients remain safe, comfortable, and independent in their homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, non-medical care based on each client’s Plan of Care

• Assist with light housekeeping duties including:
• Vacuuming
• Dusting
• Laundry
• Dishwashing
• Bathroom and kitchen cleaning

Our office serves seniors in Victoria and surrounding communities, including James Bay, Saanich, Oak Bay, Gordon Head, etc. This position may require travel to those areas – we do our best to match you with clients in your area.
