Job summary

Comfort Keepers Victoria is seeking compassionate, reliable caregivers to provide non-medical in-home care. You will follow each client’s Plan of Care, offer companionship, assist with light housekeeping, and help maintain comfort and independence for clients in their own homes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain), and a valid driver’s license. You’ll work in a supportive team with ongoing training and strict confidentiality.

Qualifications

• CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to maintain).
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check.
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance is a plus.

What You’ll Do

• Provide attentive, non-medical care according to each client’s Plan of Care
• Offer companionship through conversation, reading, activities, and social engagement
• Support emotional well-being and mental alertness
• Perform light housekeeping (vacuuming, dusting, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, etc.)
• Prepare meals
• Observe and report changes in a client’s physical, emotional, or mental condition
• Maintain clear, professional communication with clients, and team members
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time
• Participate in training, staff meetings, and ongoing education
• Maintain strict confidentiality and use equipment safely
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma (minimum requirement)
• Valid CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to maintain)
• Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license with insurance is always a bonus!
• Dependable, punctual, and committed to client care
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication skills and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Physical & Working Environment

• Regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and light lifting (up to 12 kg / 25 lbs)
• Manual dexterity and strength in both hands required
• Possible exposure to bloodborne pathogens or infectious diseases
