Job summary

Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, NS, is seeking a dedicated Housekeeper to join our caring team.

Under supervision, you will clean assigned areas, handle general laundry, and help maintain a sanitary environment while supporting residents in living well.

This role offers a stable schedule with weekends, days, evenings, and holidays in a pet-friendly, community-focused facility.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required.
• Operate and clean institutional equipment (kitchen, laundry, sanitation).
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Comfort with seniors and varying levels of disability.
• Experience keeping a clean, sanitary environment.
• Preference for National Sanitation Program completion.
• Knowledge of WHMIS legislation.
• Reliable with regular attendance.
• Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector checks.

Job Summary

Under the directionof the assigned Supervisor/Manager, the Housekeeper is a fundamental part ofthe team that provides supportive services in the Home. This role may beassigned tasks that include:

• Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of thefacility in a sanitary condition.
• General laundry duties including sorting, loadingand folding of laundry and delivering to neighbourhoods.
• Responsible for maintaining all assigned areasand equipment in sanitary condition.
• Supporting residents to “live well” accordingto assigned tasks, within scope of employment

Qualifications

• Grade Twelve (12) required or equivalent.
• Knowledge and ability to operate and clean institutional equipment (kitchen,laundry, and sanitation)
• Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
• Must be comfortable working with seniors with varying levels of disability.
• Experience in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment
• Preference to candidates who have recently completed the NationalSanitation Program.
• Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation.
• Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
• Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check and clear Vulnerable SectorCheck.
