Job summary

Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, Nova Scotia invites applications for a part-time Laundry Worker. The role involves general laundry duties, sorting, loading, folding, and delivering to units, with regular cleanup of the laundry area.

Qualifications

• Minimum completion of Grade Twelve (12) required.
• Knowledge and ability to operate institutional laundry equipment.
• Must demonstrate good written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis.
• Must be comfortable working around seniors.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the processing of all linens and personal laundry items including collecting, sorting, and folding etc.
• Responsible to use industrial washers and dryers according to guidelines
• Maintains laundry stocks and delivers lines to the neighbourhoods
• Responsible for the routine cleaning of all laundry equipment
• Replenishes supplies
• Reports defective equipment or linens to the Facility Support Manager
• Is familiar with facility Policies and Procedures, Fire and Safety, and Emergency procedures and carries out guidelines of same
• Attends staff education sessions as required
• Performs other related duties as required

Salary Range:

Rotation:

Combination of all shift types. Position requires weekend work. Schedule may change as necessary to ensurecoverage.
