Job summary

Ocean View Continuing Care Centre in Eastern Passage, NS, Canada is seeking a full-time Housekeeper to clean and maintain assigned areas, perform general laundry duties, and support residents to live well. The role requires attention to sanitation, reliability, and ability to work with seniors.

The facility offers a supportive work environment, opportunities for education, and a team-based culture within an operations-focused department. Weekends and variable shifts may be involved.

Qualifications

• Grade Twelve (12) required or equivalent.
• Knowledge to operate and clean institutional equipment (kitchen, laundry, sanitation).
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Comfort working with seniors with varying levels of disability.
• Experience in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment.
• Preference to candidates who have recently completed the National Sanitation Program.
• Working knowledge of WHMIS legislation.
• Ability to attend work regularly and consistently.
• Must provide a clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and maintaining assigned areas of the facility in a sanitary condition.
• General laundry duties including sorting, loading and folding of laundry and delivering to neighbourhoods.
• Maintaining all assigned areas and equipment in sanitary condition.
• Supporting residents to “live well” within scope of employment.

Rotation
