Best Western PLUS NorWester Hotel & Conference Centre in Northwestern Ontario is seeking a Guest Services Agent to greet guests, handle check-ins/check-outs, manage reservations, and provide local information.

The role requires 2–3 years of hospitality experience, a secondary school diploma, and strong oral/written communication, attention to detail, and a team-focused attitude; computer skills and CRS experience are an asset.

Qualifications

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in hospitality or related role.

Responsibilities

  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms
  • Resolve complaints and claims
  • Process group arrivals and departures
  • Take, cancel and change room reservations
  • Provide information on hotel facilities and services
  • Provide general information about points of interest in the area
  • Exchange foreign currency
  • Process guests' departures, calculate charges and receive payments
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports and related forms
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations and room assignments
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures
  • Clerical duties (i.e. faxing, filing, photocopying)
  • Answer telephone and relay telephone calls and messages
  • Assist clients/guests with special needs
  • Contact customers to deliver requested wakeup calls
  • Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Provide customer service
  • Work with minimal supervision
