Gray Collection in Montreal is seeking a friendly Host(ess) to welcome guests, manage reservations, and support the front-of-house team in delivering a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience, excellent English and French communication, strong customer service, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage dining room reservations;

Job description

Among our establishments are Maggie Oakes, Jacopo, Vieux-Port Steakhouse, Pincette, Bevo Bar+Pizzeria, Restaurant Gaspar, Terrasse le Perché, Terrasse William Gray, and Terrasse sur l’Auberge.

The Host(ess) is the first point of contact for guests, whether in person or over the phone. They provide a warm welcome, manage reservations, and support the front-of-house team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage dining room reservations;
• Ensure menus are clean, organized, and in excellent condition;
• Greet guests upon arrival, assign tables according to the established floor plan, escort them to their tables, and adjust place settings as needed;
• Assist the dining room team whenever necessary during service;
• Thank guests upon departure, inquire about their satisfaction, and encourage them to return;
• Ensure the cleanliness of the host stand, restrooms, and dining room;
• Answer telephone calls according to established procedures;
• Perform any other related duties required to ensure the smooth operation of dining room service.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar position;
• Strong customer service skills;
• Ability to work independently;
• Resourceful and proactive;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Excellent communication skills in both English and French, spoken and written.
