We are recruiting for a Hospice Billing Coordinator. Previous experience with hospice billing and Room and Board is preferred. This position is expected to be remote, working Monday through Friday during business hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

Billing Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Accurately enter patient billing data, including visit chargers and supply charges, into the information system.
  • Process and bill Medicare, Medicaid, private payers, other insurance providers, and patient claims according to payer requirements and organizational policies.
  • Assist in preparing monthly billing analysis reports.
  • Maintain accurate Medicare and Medicaid billing analysis reports.
  • Keep complete and precise billing and accounts receivable records.
  • Prepare Medicare, Medicaid, private payer, and patient remittances for data entry.
  • Assist with receivables collection by monitoring accounts, resubmitting bills for overdue accounts, and alerting the billing manager of seriously overdue accounts.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, payers, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information at all times.
  • Perform other projects related to billing, data entry, and computer operations as required.

Previous hospice billing experience and familiarity with authorizations are required.

Position Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Excel, and Word is preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare, especially in home care operations, is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and lead professional and administrative personnel.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of corporate business management, governmental regulations, CHAP standards, and private payor practices.
