Job summary

Semtech Canada invites applications for a 12- to 16-month Intern, High Speed Analog IC Design at our Ottawa Design Centre. You will work on design, development, verification and characterization of analog/mixed-signal blocks used in data communications products.

Mentorship from senior designers, exposure to BiCMOS/CMOS processes, and hands-on CAD tooling (Cadence Virtuoso) will enable you to grow technical depth in a fast-paced, team-based environment.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of analog electronic circuit fundamentals.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team environment.
• Exposure to transistor level circuit design/analysis would be an asset.
• Exposure to CAD circuit design tools (e.g. Cadence Virtuoso) would be an asset.
• Experience with Python and/or Matlab would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• The design, development, verification and characterization of analog and mixed-signal circuits for use in data communications products.
• Circuits such as phase-locked loops, equalizers, optical and cable receivers and drivers plus other key circuit building blocks.
• State-of-the-art BiCMOS and CMOS technologies are used for these circuits.
• Advanced CAD tools for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of the analog blocks plus scripting work for IC design and validation automation using Python, Skill, TCL, etc.
