Job summary

Semtech Canada in Calgary is seeking an intern for High Speed Analog IC Design. You will be embedded in the Signal Integrity Products Group and gain hands-on experience by working on real projects that scale in complexity as you learn.

The role covers design, verification and characterization of analog/mixed-signal circuits, using Cadence Virtuoso, MATLAB and Python. You will receive mentoring from senior designers and contribute to industry-leading data communication products, with a 12–16

Qualifications

• Good understanding of analog electronic circuit fundamentals.
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently or in a team environment.
• Exposure to transistor-level circuit design/analysis would be an asset.
• Exposure to CAD circuit design tools (Cadence Virtuoso) would be an asset.
• Experience with Matlab and/or scripting languages such as Python would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Design, development, verification and characterization of analog and mixed-signal circuits for data communications products.
• Circuits such as phase-locked loops, equalizers, optical and cable receivers and drivers.
• Advanced CAD tools for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of the analog blocks plus scripting work for IC design and validation automation using Python, Skill, TCL.

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• As the Intern, High Speed Analog IC Design, you will be involved with:
  • The design, development, verification and characterization of analog and mixed-signal circuits for use in our data communications products.
  • Circuits such as phase-locked loops, equalizers, optical and cable receivers and drivers plus other key circuit building blocks. State-of-the-art BiCMOS and CMOS technologies are used for these circuits.
  • Advanced CAD tools for the design, layout, simulation, and verification of the analog blocks plus scripting work for IC design and validation automation using Python, Skill, TCL, etc.
  • Semtech’s dynamic team environment and senior designers who will provide mentoring and guidance throughout the internship term.
    

This position is for a 12 – 16-month student Analog IC design internship at Semtech Canada with the Signal Integrity Products Group (SIP) in our Calgary Design Centre.

Minimum Qualifications:
