Qualifications

• 1 year of security experience, preferably in Mall/Retail or in-house loss prevention.
• Education background in law enforcement is an asset (e.g., Police Foundation/Criminology/Protection Security and Investigation).
• Valid Ontario Security License & Valid Standard First Aid & Level C CPR with AED.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe shopping environment and protect people and property.
• Prepare professional daily security reports and incident reports.
• De-escalate conflicts and enforce security policies within legal guidelines.

Requirements

1 year of security experience, w/ preferably in a Mall/Retail, in-house loss prevention, Gov't environment, and/or a diploma in the field of security or law enforcementEducation background in law enforcement, such as Police Foundation/Criminology/Protection Security and Investigation is an asset.Valid Ontario Security License & Valid Standard First Aid & Level C CPR with AEDComfort with two-way radio communication/dispatch and/or CCTV softwareApproaches a situation with a listening mindset and empathyCapable of standing and walking for a duration of up to 8/10/12 hoursAbility to problem solve, effective with crowd management and use discretion and good judgmentUse of force training and/or Military/Law Enforcement background is an asset. Shares and adheres to our values - REACH (Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy and Honesty)Punctuality & Able to stand/patrol up for up to 12 hours.Strong ability to prepare professional daily and/or incident security reports.Knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act (TPA), Canada Criminal Code, and 494(c)Conflict resolution and de-escalation skillsAbility to conduct arrests within appropriate and sanctioned situations.
