Job summary

Securiguard is hiring a Retail Security Officer in Canada (BC, Duncan). You will maintain a highly visible security presence, assist customers, and support store operations to prevent incidents. The role emphasizes safety, service, and professional conduct in a retail setting.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security Worker BST license in good standing.
• Minimum 6 months of retail, customer service, or security experience.
• Strong communication and customer-first approach.
• Ability to stay calm, professional, and approachable in all situations.
• Must be able to stand and remain attentive during shifts of up to 8 hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional, highly visible presence to deter theft and promote safety.
• Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests and assisting with inquiries.
• Conduct proactive patrols of sales floors, entrances/exits, and designated areas.
• Respond promptly and professionally to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies.
• Observe and report suspicious activity in collaboration with store management and Loss Prevention.
• Serve as a liaison between security and store operations on customer or safety concerns.
• Complete clear, accurate incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Promote a positive and safe environment for staff and customers.

About the Role

As a Retail Security Officer with Securiguard, you'll be more than just a uniformed presence—you'll be a frontline ambassador of safety, customer service, and professionalism in the retail environment. Retail Security Officers play a key role in creating a safe and welcoming shopping experience by focusing on visibility, proactive patrols, and customer support. Working closely with store management and Loss Prevention teams, you'll help prevent incidents before they occur and respond effectively when needed—all while representing both the client and Securiguard with integrity. What You Would Do
