Sterling Crane Canada is seeking a licensed Heavy Equipment Technician (310T) for our Corunna/Sarnia, ON location. This full‑time hourly role (40 hours/week) includes field and shop work, with overtime as needed.

A journeyperson license and experience with electrical and hydraulic systems are required. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing cranes and heavy equipment, performing CVIP inspections, ordering parts, and maintaining fleet records.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson licensed 310T Truck and Coach / Heavy Equipment Technician.
• Experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.
• CVIP license or willingness to enter the CVIP program.
• Must be local to Sarnia/Corunna ON and able to pass pre-employment screening.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose and repair mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, heavy‑duty trucks, and trailers.
• Perform mechanical inspections including Commercial Vehicle inspections.
• Utilize testing equipment to identify issues and address repairs promptly.
• Order parts and track fleet maintenance; provide repair comments.

Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Heavy Equipment Technician (licensed 310T Truck and Coach Technician) based in our Corunna/Sarnia, ON branch. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week) with occasional overtime required. JOB TYPE: Full-time hourly position, unionized. Field and shop work required. LOCATION: 696 Polymoore Drive, Corunna, ON N0N 1G0. HOURS: Monday through Friday, within business operating hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM MST (40 hour/week). Overtime will be required as needed.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, heavy-duty trucks, and trailers efficiently.
• Perform mechanical inspections including Commercial Vehicle inspections.
• Utilize testing equipment to identify issues.
• Address outstanding repairs promptly.
• Order parts and track fleet maintenance in the Sterling Crane Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work order formats.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson licensed 310T Truck and Coach / Heavy Equipment Technician required.
• Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
• Commercial vehicle inspection license or willing to enter the CVIP program.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• A strong working knowledge of Liebherr, Grove, Tadano, Broderson and Kobelco crane manufacturers is an asset.
• Must supply own hand tools, a valid class 5 driver’s license; class 1 or 3 is considered an asset.
• The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 793 or become a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 793.
• IMPORTANT: Successful applicants must be local to the Sarnia/Corunna ON region.
• As a safety-sensitive position, it is a condition of employment that candidates successfully pass pre-employment testing that may include Drug and Alcohol screening.
