Job summary

Sterling Crane Canada is seeking a Crane Operator (Journeyperson/Red Seal or 3rd Year Apprentice) for on-site work in Prince George, BC. The role is a straight-time hourly position, unionized, requiring safe work practices and the ability to work well both independently and with a team.

Responsibilities include assisting crane operators, rigging equipment, and supporting maintenance and delivery tasks. Class 1A license and IUOE Local 115 eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• 3rd year apprentice or Journeyperson certificate.
• Valid Class 1A driver’s license.
• Demonstrated safe work practices and ability to work well independently and in a team.
• Eligibility for IUOE Local 115 membership.

Responsibilities

• Assist crane operators in assembly, disassembly and transport of cranes.
• Rig equipment and assist in crane maintenance.
• Support shop and yard duties and equipment delivery as needed.

Crane Operator (Journeyperson/Red Seal or 3rd Year Apprentice)

Job Details

JOB TYPE: Straight-time hourly position, unionized.

LOCATION: Sites of business operation as required, branch located at 9157 Rock Island Road, Prince George, BC (on-site).

Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

• Assisting crane operators in assembly, disassembly and transport of cranes.
• Rigging of equipment.
• Assist mechanic with the maintenance of cranes and general duties in the shop and yard.
• Delivery of equipment and rigging as needed.

Qualifications

• 3rd year apprentice or Journeyperson certificate.
• Class 1A driver's license is required.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 115 or become members of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 115.
