Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking a skilled mechanic at our Burlington, ON location. The role involves inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of construction equipment, including earth-moving and aerial gear.

You will diagnose faults, perform repairs, and test equipment to ensure peak performance, while mentoring apprentices and documenting work orders. We require at least 3 years of mechanical experience, a valid Class G license, and your own tools.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.
• Valid Class G driver’s license (clean abstract).
• Must have own tools.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Experience with diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Self-starter with ability to work independently and with a team.
• Comfortable with computers for inspections and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Must have own tools.Available and willing to work over-time as needed.Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.Comfortable with computers (for filling out inspections, inventory management, etc.).Physical stamina and ability to stand and bend for long periods of time.
