Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited in Timmins, Ontario, is seeking a motivated, customer-focused technician to join our team. You will inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment and perform preventative maintenance and diagnostics to ensure safe, reliable operation.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience, a valid Class G license, and willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience on construction equipment.
  • Valid Class G license with clean/satisfactory driving record (≤3 demerit points).
  • Must have a complete set of tools or be building one.
  • Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps and motors.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving, compaction, aerial equipment, and forklifts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety policies.

What You’ll Be Doing Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including (but not limited to) earth-moving equipment, compaction equipment, and aerial equipment such as telehandlers, boom lifts and scissor lifts and forklifts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs.
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Adhere to all company Health and Safety Policies.
What You’ll Bring to the Team Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of mechanical experience, working on a variety of construction equipment.
  • Valid Class G license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points).
  • Must have a complete set of tools (or working on building a complete toolset).
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic pumps, and motors.
  • Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to converse with colleagues, customers, and other parties in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Pay Range: $38.00 - $42.00 per hour Location: 2001 Riverside Drive Timmins, ON P4R 0A3
