Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals is seeking an Equipment Technician to inspect, service and maintain our diverse fleet of construction equipment across the Toronto area. The role requires diagnosing malfunctions, performing repairs, and testing equipment to ensure safe operation and reliability.

You will document inspections and work orders, uphold safety standards, and collaborate with a team in a fast-paced shop environment. Willingness to work overtime and possess own tools is expected.

What You’ll Be Doing

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, service and maintain a diverse fleet of construction equipment including earth-moving, compact and aerial equipment.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make required repairs, testing repaired equipment for proper performance.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of inspections, maintenance and work orders.

Qualifications And Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• Heavy Equipment Technician License (421A or 310T) is an asset but not required.
• Experience working on a variety of construction equipment preferred.
• Valid Class G driver’s license with clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than 3 demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
• Must have own tools.
• Available and willing to work over-time as needed.
• Strong understanding of computer applications and diagnostic tools.
• Expertise in diesel and gas engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Highly adaptable and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety, with a strong focus on following procedures and promoting a safe work environment.
• Eagerness to continuously learn and stay up to date with emerging technology
• Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
