Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals Limited is seeking a mechanically inclined technician to service heavy construction equipment on customer sites in Brampton. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, while maintaining accurate work orders and parts requests.

The role requires 1–3 years on heavy equipment, a valid G license, and a willingness to work outdoors, often with overtime or on-call. Training and safety are emphasized in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn on heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• 1–3 years of mechanical experience on heavy equipment preferred.
• Self-directed with ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional mechanics courses are a plus.
• Valid Class G driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory abstract.
• Willingness to work outdoors and overtime/on-call as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning, lubrication, preventive maintenance, inspections on heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and computer apps to troubleshoot and assist repairs.
• Test repaired equipment for proper performance and safety.
• Assist with parts replacement and ensure manufacturer specifications are met.
• Maintain thorough documentation of inspections, maintenance, and work orders.
• Order and track parts and open/close purchase orders as required.
• Collaborate with senior techs to enhance skills and knowledge.
