Job summary

Finning Canada in Yellowknife, NT, is seeking a Journeyman Mechanic to troubleshoot and oversee repairs on Caterpillar equipment and other engines. The role reports to the Service Supervisor and includes on-site safety compliance, customer interaction, and collaboration with the supervisor on tasks.

We require a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification and at least 1 year of heavy-duty experience.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician.
• Dedication to safety.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset.
• Experience with Lawson, SIS (Service Information System) and warranty systems considered assets.

• Wage: $56.89 - $63.21 / hour
• 14x14 Continuous Shift Rotation
• Job will be based in Yellowknife, NT at the Jackfish power plant.
• Travel to other NTPC sites may be required
