Job summary

Finning Canada is looking for qualified heavy equipment technicians for a permanent field position in Regina. You’ll assemble, maintain, repair and rebuild large Caterpillar machines with safety in mind, in a 5x2 shift. The role offers solid pay, comprehensive benefits and training opportunities.

The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification and may have Lawson/SIS/warranty systems experience. A strong safety mindset and good communication skills are valued.

Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification required.
  • Gas engine/Power generation experience considered an asset.
  • 3rd/4th Apprentices considered based on experience.
  • Dedication to safety and strong communication skills required.
  • Experience with Lawson, SIS and warranty systems considered assets.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment in the field.
  • Component replacements and large-scale overhauls/rebuilds.
  • New equipment preparation and on-site testing.
  • Interface with customers, product, and sales support.
  • Coordinate with supervisors on various tasks.
  • Support continuous improvement of equipment and facilities.

Job Description
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment in the field
  • Component replacements

Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
  • Journeyperson Truck and Transport, Journeyperson Agriculture and Journeyperson Automotive Certification will be considered based on experience
  • 3rd and 4th Apprentices will be considered based on experience
  • Dedication to safety
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
  • Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be considered an asset
  • Transmission or Hydraulic testing would be considered an asset
  • Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset
  • Experience with Lawson, SIS (Service Information System) and warranty systems considered assets

  • This position is located at our Regina branch on a 5x2 shift
  • This is a field position
  • A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
