Job summary

Parkland County is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join the Public Works team in Stony Plain, AB. You will diagnose breakdowns and perform maintenance, service and repair on municipal transport vehicles and equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality and timely response.

Eligible candidates hold Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate and a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate, plus 5 years of mechanical experience (2+ years heavy duty).

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate and CVIP required.
• Minimum five years mechanical experience, two+ years heavy duty.
• Experience repairing municipal equipment and snow plow trucks.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose breakdowns and perform maintenance on municipal vehicles and equipment.
• Repair and overhaul light and heavy duty equipment as needed.
• Maintain safety and quality while meeting schedules.
