Job summary

Blackline Civil Inc. is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of heavy equipment to ensure safe operation.

You will work on trucks, loaders, and excavators, perform preventative servicing, and keep detailed service records while upholding safety and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Experience with brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere (preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators)

About the Role

We're looking for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. You'll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
  • Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators)
  • Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing
  • Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records
  • Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards
  • Work collaboratively with operators and supervisors
