Job summary

Parks Canada - Highway Operations Unit in Lake Louise, AB seeks a Heavy Equipment Mechanic / Truck & Transport Mechanic to maintain and repair a range of heavy and light vehicles and equipment.

Intended candidate will hold Red Seal certification and have experience with diesel engines, hydraulics, and air brake systems; offer full-time hours and opportunities across the Public Service.

Qualifications

• Certification as Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Truck and Transport Mechanic Journeyperson.
• Experience in maintenance and repair of heavy duty trucks and equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, air brake systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled mechanical maintenance, repair and modification of vehicles and equipment.
• Work within Parks Canada Highway Operations Unit to keep fleets operational.
• Ensure safety and compliance with maintenance procedures.
