Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our customer at Kearl, Alberta, on a 14x14 continuous day/night shift.

Ideal candidates hold a Red Seal HET certification with CAT mining equipment experience; on-site camp lodging, safety compliance, and CAT SIS/VIMS/ET proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Must have Red Seal Journeyperson HET certification.
• Apprentice candidates in 3rd/4th/4th year may be considered based on experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs.
• Use Caterpillar SIS, VIMS and ET daily.
• Interface with Caterpillar, customers and sales support.
• Adhere to on-site safety requirements and Finning safety culture.

Working Hours & Shift

• Full time, Permanent
• 14x14 continuous day and night shift rotation

Job Description

• Trouble shooting equipment and systems and performing repairs
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS, VIMS and ET daily
• Interface with Caterpillar, customers, product and sales support
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• 3rd/4th yr HET apprentices may be considered based on experience
• Strong knowledge/experience of 797F C175 haul truck
• Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Dedication to safety. A safety leader to help drive a strong safety culture
• Completion of all Finning S-level courses
• Strong computer skillset including ET and VIMS
• Preference for advanced electrical troubleshooting skills
• Tier 2/4 & C175 series engines experience
• Experience in a mine or industrial setting is preferred

Important Notes

• This position is located at D05 Kearl Facility on a 14x14 continuous day/night shift rotation
• Successful candidate will be required to stay in camp, while on shift
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
