Finning is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to support our Fort McKay Oil Sands shop. If you have large CAT mining equipment experience, this role is for you. Join a safety‑conscious team dedicated to reliable service.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.
• Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with CAT mining equipment.
• 3rd or 4th year Heavy Duty Mechanic apprentices may be considered based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Troubleshoot, maintain and perform equipment repairs
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the Supervisor on various tasks

Important Detail

• This shop position is on a 14x14 or 7x7 shift rotation based out of our Fort McKay facility
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator

Union Membership

• You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
