Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for field work at the Kearl site in Fort McMurray, AB. You’ll troubleshoot, repair and maintain large CAT mining equipment on a 14x14 day/night rotation and stay in camp during shifts. A Red Seal and mine-site experience are highly valued.

Eligible candidates enjoy industry-leading wages, shift premiums, camp/perks and a strong focus on safety and customer service. A valid driver's license and CAT training are required.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician Certification.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean recent abstract.
• Strong knowledge/experience with 797F C175 haul trucks.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
• Safety leadership and a culture of safety.
• Completion of Finning S-level courses.
• Strong computer skills including ET and VIMS.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills preferred.
• Tier 2/4 & C175 engine experience.
• Mine/industrial setting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and systems and perform repairs.
• Use Caterpillar SIS, VIMS and ET daily.
• Interface with Caterpillar, customers, product and sales support.
• Support on-site safety requirements and policies.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.
