Finning in Canada’s Oil Sands seeks Heavy Duty Field Mechanics to support customers in Fort McMurray. If you have CAT mining equipment field service experience, this role offers 14x14 shifts, attractive pay, and CAT certification growth opportunities.

You will troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and overhaul Caterpillar mining equipment in the field, documenting service reports and interacting with customers and Finning teams. Journeyperson HET certification and a valid driver's license required.

Job Description

Major Job Functions

• Troubleshoot and repair and maintain Caterpillar mining equipment
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
• Large scale overhauls and rebuilds
• Component replacements
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Experience as a Heavy Equipment Technician
• Strong field troubleshooting skills on the Caterpillar mining product line required for field based positions
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract required for field positions

Important Detail

• This position will work a 14x14 shift, rotating days and nights.
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respiratorwhere applicable
