Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring Heavy Duty Mechanics to support the customer at Artemis Blackwater mine site in Northern British Columbia. The role requires mining experience and offers a comprehensive benefits package and competitive wage.

Compensation includes an industry-leading base wage with regional allowances, a remote mine site premium, and night shift premiums. This is a permanent, on-site position with travel and training opportunities through CAT certifications.

Qualifications

• Certification as an Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic is required.
• Minimum 3 years of Heavy Duty Mechanic experience in mining.
• Valid driver's license with a clean abstract.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs independently.
• Interface with customers, products and sales support.
• Work with supervisor on tasks and duties as needed.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.
• Perform component intervention diagnosis and repairs.
• Perform field runner duties and mine repairs as needed.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions:

• Safety conscience team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail
• Comply and engage with all safety requirements from customer and Finning
• Trouble shooting equipment and perform repairs independently
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the supervisor on various tasks and duties as needed
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Perform component intervention diagnosis and repairs
• Perform field runner duties and in mine repairs as needed

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification
• Minimum 3 years experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in a mining environment
• Valid class 5 driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Cat mining equipment experience will be considered and asset
• Ability to conduct and perform duties and leverage resources independently
• Ability to independently troubleshoot and perform internal engine repairs
• Deep Understanding of the Caterpillar product line
• Ability to effectively navigate SIS 2.0 without assistance
• Ability to leverage and prove competency in searching DPSS to assist with troubleshooting and find information
• Ability to independently submit DSN in event troubleshooting requires additional support or has been deemed a requirement

Important Detail:

• This position will work a 14x14 continuous shift, rotating days and nights at Artemis Blackwater mine site.
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
