Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Scheduler to manage shift bookings and daily operations, ensuring staffing meets patient care needs. You will generate reports, improve service delivery, and coordinate with unit staff to maintain smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, at least 2 years in a similar role, and strong Excel/Office skills. Experience in a unionized healthcare environment is a plus, with confidentiality and problem solving valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; diploma in office management preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in same or similar role.
• Ability to operate word processing and spreadsheet software.
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Experience in a unionized healthcare environment preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; maintains confidentiality.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides solution-focused assistance to site staff.
• Ensures all shifts are filled to meet business needs.
• Responsible for the management of site workbook of vacant shifts.
• Manages sick time, time & attendance records, filling up shifts, and scheduling.
• Prepares daily assignment sheets for the departments.
• Authorizes and affirms that overtime and agency use is minimal.
• Assures effective communication with management regarding unit staffing status and issues.
• Accurately inputs relief staff into shifts in Kronos.
• Enters accurate hours/pay codes for relief staff.
• Liaison with Unit Clerks/Administrative staff.
