Job summary

Chartwell Retirement Residences is seeking a Health and Wellness Manager to lead a dedicated care team and ensure residents receive personalized, dignified care. You will manage to keep residents feeling valued, secure, and at home within a collaborative management setting.

You’ll supervise nurses and wellness staff, partner with families on care decisions, and champion safe, efficient operations while staying compliant with clinical documentation and care plans.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in healthcare or retirement settings is an asset.
• RPN/LPN or RN in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and understanding of resident care plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead, support, and supervise Nurses and other wellness team members.
• Ensure residents receive appropriate care based on individual needs.
• Use the nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate) to guide care and wellness plans.

Health and Wellness Manager

you’ll lead a dedicated care team to deliver personalized support that makes residents feel valued, secure, and truly at home. You’ll be part of a collaborative management team, working together to ensure every resident’s wellness journey is dignified, engaging, and meaningful.

What You’ll Do

• Ensure residents receive the right level of care based on individual needs
• Use the full nursing process (assess, plan, implement, evaluate) to guide care delivery and wellness plans
• Complete required clinical documentation, including resident admissions, assessments, discharges, and progress notes
• Partner with residents and families in making informed care decisions
• Lead, support, and supervise Nurses and other wellness team members
• Respond promptly and professionally to residents and family concerns
• Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth daily operations and step into the Manager on Duty role
• Participate in our Joint Occupational Health & Safety Committee and champion safe work practices

What You’ll Bring

• Minimum 2 years clinical experience
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in healthcare or retirement settings is an asset
• Registered Practical Nurse (RPN/LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses
• Proficiency in clinical documentation and understanding of resident care plans
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• A collaborative and empathetic leadership style
• Valid Driver’s License, or reliable means of transportation

Additional Requirements

• May require carrying a company-issued phone and working flexible hours, including weekends
• Some travel may be required
• Comfort using AI and other digital platform systems and tools to support daily work
