Job summary

EllisDon Corporation in Kelowna, BC, is seeking an on-site Health & Safety Leader to oversee site safety orientation, inspections, and incident reporting on our projects. You will monitor workers and subcontractors to ensure compliance with safety procedures and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3–5 years of construction safety experience, the ability to influence others to follow safety rules, and an active NCSO designation with BC First Aid certification.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of construction safety experience.
• Ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules.
• NCSO designation and knowledge of OHS regulations.
• Advanced First Aid certification for British Columbia.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for site specific safety orientation, job site inspections and accident/incident reports
• Monitor employees and subcontractors on site to ensure compliance to safety procedures and escalate issues to resolution
• Proactively identify and prevent hazardous situations and take necessary measures to correct them
• Organize and conduct training programs including but not limited to: WHMIS, Fall Protection, Personal Protection Equipment, CPR/First Aid
• Create, maintain, and educate all site staff on maintaining a safety first culture
• Review subcontractors’ pre-construction safety submittals
• Review and file subcontractors’ weekly safety documentation
• Effectively compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly project health and safety statistics

Is this the right role for you?

• You have a minimum of 3-5 years' of safety construction experience
• You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
• You are working toward, or already hold, your NCSO designation and have knowledge of OHS regulations
• You have the ability to delegate and influence others to follow safety rules and regulations
• You hold valid Advanced First Aid certification for British Columbia

The salary range for this position is $80,000 - $95,000
