About The Role

The Health & Safety Coordinator will support the regional Health & Safety Manager and team in implementing safety management systems and processes. You will provide guidance to ensure compliance with Lafarge standards, policies, and regulations, serving as a strategic partner and technical expert on hazard recognition and risk mitigation. This role is based in Edmonton Ellwood office.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Provide health and safety coaching to site leadership and safety teams
  • Facilitate and coordinate safety training programs
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safe work procedures
  • Assist in incident investigations and compliance inspections
  • Coordinate audits and support continuous safety improvements
  • Support development and implementation of safety policies and programs
  • Assist in injury prevention and claim management
  • Support safety communication efforts
  • Promote a safety culture across operations

What We’re Looking For

  • Post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree in Occupational Health & Safety
  • 3-5 years of safety experience, preferably in construction
  • Certifications: CSO/NCSO, COR auditor (CRSP preferred)
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Google Suite
  • Approximately 15% travel within North America
  • Effective communication skills, knowledge of provincial regulations, valid driver’s license, ability to travel
