Job summary

Optima Living in Canada is seeking a Health Care Aide to support residents across daily living activities, in collaboration with the care team and nursing staff. You will assist with mobility, personal care, meals, medication reminders, and comfort, while maintaining dignity and respect for each resident in line with policies.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Health Care Aide program.
• Current registration with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA).
• Experience in residential care or mental health environment is an asset.
• CPR and First Aid certification kept current.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Support move-ins/outs, palliative care, and end-of-life needs with dignity.
• Document observations and interventions, report changes promptly.
• Respond to call bells and resident requests in a timely manner.
• Support meal assistance and dining duties; monitor nutrition and hydration.
• Maintain infection control practices and safety during transfers and activities.
