Job summary

Optima Living in Canada is seeking a Part-Time Health Care Aide to support residents with daily living activities under the supervision of nursing staff. You will help with personal care, mobility, dining, and safety, contributing to a home-like, respectful environment.

The role emphasizes patient-centered care, infection control, and collaboration with the care team to promote dignity, comfort and independence for residents across our dementia and memory care programs.

Qualifications

• Completion of a recognized Health Care Aide program.
• Current registration with CLHA (or equivalent) in Alberta.
• CPR and First Aid certification and ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Supports the care team to meet residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs.
• Assists with move-ins/outs, palliative care and end-of-life support with dignity.
• Supports development of resident personal care or service plans.
• Documents observations and interventions and reports changes to nursing leadership.
• Responds to call bells and resident requests in a timely manner.
• Assists with dining duties and mobility-related tasks while ensuring safety.
