AgeCare Shawnee in Calgary, AB is looking for a Health Care Aide to join our care team. Under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will deliver safe, compassionate basic resident care, including personal care, mobility support, and meal assistance.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in continuing care or related environment preferred.
• Post-secondary education an asset.
• Completion of a recognized PCA/HCA certificate or equivalent.
• Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA).

Responsibilities

• Bath, shower, and wash residents per the NCP with safe water temp control.
• Transfer/assist with resident transfers using ceiling/mechanical lifts and transfer belts.
• Feed/assist with meals and nourishment per care plan.
• Provide routine treatments and care under supervision of Staff Nurse.
• Assist residents to travel about the facility and to dining.
• Support mobility with walkers, wheelchairs or positioning chairs as needed.
• Accompany residents to social and therapy activities and to other facility areas.
