Job description

Founded in 1899, St. Andrew's College (SAC) is an independent, all-boys university preparatory school for Grades 5-12. Located 40 minutes north of Toronto, SAC's 126-acre campus is home to a mix of 650 boarding and day students from 25 countries. As set out in our mission statement, SAC's rigorous academic program is complemented by a wide range of co-curricular activities designed to develop the complete man, the well-rounded citizen. All boys participate in the leadership program and the extensive athletic program (71 teams across 22 sports). Graduates gain entry to top universities in Canada, the U.S., and abroad and are part of a network of 6,000 Old Boys around the world.

We invite applications for a Health and Physical Education teacher position at St. Andrew's College, reporting to the Deputy Head. The successful candidate will teach Health and Physical Education courses in addition to other subjects in the Upper School. This role will begin in late August 2025.

The successful candidate will bring high-level coaching experience in at least two sports offered at SAC. In particular, we welcome applications from teachers with experience playing and coaching hockey at a high level.

Candidates are required to hold a Bachelor of Education with Physical Education qualifications and preferably are certified to teach in Ontario or in pursuit of this designation. The ideal candidate will have outstanding academic credentials and demonstrate the ability to contribute to the many facets of school life.

We value educators who recognize the mutual benefits of full participation in school life and the lasting positive impact this level of involvement has on the student experience. Teachers at our school bring passion, innovation, and expertise to their instructional practice while espousing our core values of accountability, courage, integrity, creativity, respect, empathy, and resilience.

If you would like to participate in the full life of a school at the forefront of technology, boasting outstanding classroom and athletic facilities, and fostering a collegial and warm culture, we would like to hear from you. The school offers a competitive compensation package that includes the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan.

To express interest in this opportunity, submit a cover letter and resume directly to sac.simplication.com by February 18, 2025.
