Job summary

Optima Living seeks a Director of Care to lead clinical operations, care planning, and staffing for resident-focused programs. Reporting to the General Manager, you will ensure regulatory compliance and high-quality, person-centered care across communities.

The role emphasizes leadership, budget oversight, and strong collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to foster dignity, independence and wellness for residents while guiding team performance and training.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved school of nursing.
• Current license to practice from AB College of Registered Nurses (CRNA) or CLHA.
• Knowledge of aging-related issues and evidence‑based wellness practices.
• Proficient computer literacy; able to learn software such as Point Click Care, EMAR, Yardi.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership, support, guidance and mentorship to the clinical team.
• Oversees daily clinical operations and care planning to ensure safe, person-centered care.
• Manages staffing, budgeting and quality assurance in alignment with regulatory standards.
• Collaborates with General Manager and other leaders to drive quality improvements and resident well-being.
• Ensures documentation and reporting systems are maintained and compliant.
