Job summary

National Bank is seeking a Senior Director, IT Delivery and Technology Platforms in Montreal. This hybrid role leads 3–4 technology asset managers within a large team to ensure portfolio health, modernization and value delivery across critical platforms, including potential mainframe ecosystems.

You will define a technology vision, drive strategic investments, and collaborate with architecture, cybersecurity, operations and business partners to accelerate AI-enabled transformation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience managing managers and leading large technology teams.
• Hands‑on technology experience to understand, challenge and guide complex decisions.
• Experience managing critical technology assets or platforms, including lifecycle, stability and modernization.
• Knowledge of mainframe environments and their modernization is an asset.
• Hands‑on experience using AI in a technology delivery context with adoption across teams.
• Experience delivering complex programs involving multiple teams and dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead 3 to 4 managers accountable for technology assets and influence an organization of 50–75 people.
• Ensure health and sustainability of a portfolio balancing stability, resilience, security and modernization.
• Establish a technology vision and roadmap aligning with business needs and risk reduction.
• Be accountable for portfolio performance, quality, dependency management and investment prioritization.
• Provide technology leadership to architects, specialists, delivery teams and business partners.
• Guide evolution of legacy platforms and integration with modern architectures, APIs, data, cloud and AI.
• Accelerate AI adoption in delivery and engineering practices across teams.
• Develop managers and succession talent in partnership with business sectors and other technology teams.
