Job summary

The National Film Board of Canada is seeking a senior IT leader to manage IT infrastructure and support services, guiding a multidisciplinary team across the organisation. You will align work with strategic directions, ensuring service stability, security and quality while improving the client experience nationwide.

Bring at least ten years in IT with five years leading teams, strong cloud/hybrid knowledge, and fluency in French and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant IT experience, including at least five (5) years managing teams in complex technology environments.
• Experience managing IT operations, including setting priorities, coordinating multiple areas of expertise, managing complex situations and delivering services to internal clients.
• Experience managing financial and material resources, monitoring contracts and managing vendors.
• Good knowledge of IT infrastructure environments, cloud and hybrid technologies, Linux, Windows and macOS operating systems, networks and Microsoft services, as well as cybersecurity, identity management and service continuity principles.
• Bilingualism in the official languages (French and English), both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Leads, engages and develops teams under supervision with clear expectations and objectives; supports development and monitors performance.
• Plans and coordinates sector activities translating strategic directions into priorities and work plans.
• Ensures requests, incidents and problems are prioritized and handled; maintains clear, timely user communications.
• Guides teams in preparing clear recommendation files; assesses issues, risks, costs and impacts; supports decision making.
• Draws on team expertise to analyze problems and implement solutions; presents executive recommendations.
• Provides guidance to clarify responsibilities and escalation procedures; facilitates collaboration across areas of expertise.
• Maintains oversight of service status across Canada; adapts priorities and resources to needs and risks.
• Coordinates response to major incidents and supports on-site implementation of corrective measures.
• Ensures high quality services and close collaboration with client sectors to improve service experience.
• Analyzes needs and trends; plans renewal of infrastructure and technology services with business cases.
